Dear Shana,
I’m writing to express my heartfelt thanks for the wonderful things you accomplished at my wedding. I say, “accomplished” because it was no small feat to style five bridesmaids, two mothers and a very nervous bride to perfection.
Finding a stylist for the most important of days presented an especially big challenge for me. My fiancée and I reside in Houston but decided that my home state of Oregon would be the perfect place to say our vows. We planned on two weekend trips to meet with our wedding coordinator and other vendors. That’s right; I had two weekends to find someone to wrangle my unruly curls into a picture perfect ‘do.
Fast-forward six months. I stepped into your salon with piles of pictures, my mom and a ball of nerves big enough to make Martha Stewart rethink the wedding business. I had already rejected one stylist and I had exactly 23 hours until I returned to Texas. Your warm and friendly demeanor helped to start to tame my inner Bridezilla. Within ten minutes I was thanking my lucky stars. Not only was your technical skill obviously amazing but your sincerity was impossible to miss. You made it very clear that you actually cared that I would be happy and comfortable on my big day.
My Wedding day was amazing. Not only did I LOVE my hair, but my bridal party was strutting around like peacocks. Five women with extremely different hair and extremely different ideas of beautiful, all commented that this was the best hair and make up they had ever had. More than doing great hair, your confidence, tenderness and genuine friendliness really set the tone for the day. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

I hired Shana for both my hair and make up for my wedding in June of 2008. I was having a hard time finding someone that I felt confident about. I had done a few trials with people but was not happy with their work. Like most Oregon brides I did not want to have too much make up or a stiff teased hair. I was getting a little panicked because I wanted to look beautiful on my wedding day but in a natural way that looked like me. I had two make up people tell me I had to wear a lot of make up or else I wouldn't look good in my photos.
I found Shana through the Wedding Cottage in Beaverton, OR. I met with her and instantly liked her. She was extremely patient as I tried to explain what I wanted but by this point I had no idea what to do with my hair. It took me three trials to find the right look and it was Shana who figured it out. She was very patient as I tried different styles, clips, comes and headbands. I finally asked her what she thought would look best and she put it up so it looked natural and beautiful. The make up was wonderful too. I felt like myself only better and my photos turned out great even without the ten pounds of make up.
I would highly recommend Shana to anyone. She is very talented and enjoys what she does. She came to my wedding venue and was on time and very prepared. She helped me stay relaxed and enjoy the process of getting ready. She also did a great job of doing two of my friends hair that she had just met that day. She stayed until after the ceremony because I was afraid I would mess up my make up with crying. She also helped remove my veil so I could be comfortable for the reception.
Hiring Shana was truly the best money I spent for my wedding. Being able to have a calm professional to make me look beautiful and still feel like myself was worth every penny. It set the right tone for the whole day so I could really enjoy myself.
